Hi y'all,

With the most recent update to the Hohner Mini-SqueezeBox apps for iPhone released today, all the apps now play in all three tones: GCF (Sol), FBbEb (Fa), and EAD (Mi).

No need anymore to purchase multiple apps for each tone, and if you have any of my iPhone apps, grab the latest update you'll now have all the tones and the new features.

I've improved the sound and responsiveness of the apps as well.

There are also new volume and reverb controls on the settings page (see the screenshots below).

This update requires iOS version 8.1 or later.

Have fun!

Michael

Just iPhone and iPad for now.

We are looking to see if it might be possible for Android as well in the future.

Have you actually tried that Melodeon app? It sounds terrible and was a cheap knock-off of the Hohner apps.

Hi, I use the Melodeon app. I use it when creating accordion tabs of songs I want to learn as I have all the keys available. I can't comment on the sound, as I haven't tried the Hohner app. However, the sound for me isn't that important as I'm only using it as a tabbing tool.

For creating tabs of a song, I have the phone connected into the 2nd input of my desktop speakers - where I can hear both the output of melodeon app and the sound from the computer through the headphones. I then slow down the song or video to catch the notes being played to create a complete accordion tablature (see Tabs & Songs section for many of my tabs). I create the tabs for G/C/F as that is the key of my accordion, but the original song could be in any key. The actual button positions are the same - just the key will be different.

Well, if the sound isn't important, then, sure that Melodeon app is an OK tool.  The iOS version sounds really awful. As far as I can tell, the developer doesn't care, he just wants to make money. He's somewhere in eastern Europe, and cranks out knock-off versions of other people's apps.

Hi there,

I've just checked and found that the Melodeon app for IOS costs £2.99 GBP ($3.99 USD).

For Android (via the Google Play) it is free.

I didn't know it wasn't free for IOS, and if I had to buy it, then I would rather have the Hohner app instead.

By the way, for your interest, the famous Steirische Harmonika manufacturer - Strasser
http://www.harmonika.com/
- has an app for IOS and it's free.
