Sad but true we have lost so much participation due to other types of social media, but the diehards are still here!

Before FB, IG, and Twitter, people frequented communities like this one to get information. Times have changed. The good news is that there is still a lot of great info for those that are starting out with the accordion and bajo.

Hello. I´m new at this forum and I´m starting to learn to play accordion.
Can anybody tell me if it´s worth it to buy a Corona Xtreme III N ?

I'd start with a cheaper accordion when learning to play. The Hohner Panther is great for beginners. The Corona Extremes are nice but a bit pricey.

Thanks, colombianguy. I already have a Panther, I started with it three months ago to see if I liked playing. I definitely loved playing accordion so I want to get a better and more fun accordion. I was considering Gabbanelli with 5 registers but comparing price with Corona Xtreme 5 registers I found out the latest as a better deal. But I want to know if it is a good choice.
Thanks again.

Oh, OK. I've not tried those accordions, but the action seems smooth (from videos seen). Any music stores in your area for you to try it out? I would definitely look into tone, weight, action when playing, and overall sound (loudness/dynamics) to see if that accordion will fit your needs. The box seems pretty well-built and is higher-end than a Panther. You may like it. I've seen people on here who own the Corona Extreme, and may answer your questions. Have you posted yet?

Still here. I haven’t been practicing much lately, I have learned some scales, adornos, and try to mimic folks from YouTube.

I started out in Oct 2015 but have not gotten too far. Kinda gets discouraging when self teaching as I don’t know if I am really doing it right and don’t have some guidance. I looked for some teachers in my area but it is very scarce.

I have enjoyed what I have learned about music in general by teaching myself. There is more to it than just leaning keys and patterns. I really would like to get good enough to pass my emotion through my playing.

I will stay keep coming back until there it is no longer here. I am thankful for this site as it has allowed me to learn what have.

H Quirino,  I completely understand. I tried learning for about two years on and off. It is hard when you don't have some good guidance or someone to practice with. I Learned a lot from you tube, but eventually went back to my bajoquinto and guitar. I might pick up the accordion at a later date when I have more time. I am 64 and slower to learn than those ypung puppies you see on you tube now a days. je je,

Anytime someone wants to learn how to play the accordion in a Norteno or Conjunto style, I always recommend this website and tell them to learn tabs. This website has giving me a lot of comfort when I was a soldier in Iraq overseas in 2006.
