Gilbert,
I own a Castilgione and a Gabbanelli (Mi Mayor) accordion and let me tell you the Castiglione sounds sweet. I prefer this accordion 10 times over my Gabbanelli. I've actually had some friends of mine wanting to trade their Gabbanelli's for my Castiglione and to tell you the truth that's how I got it in the first place; I traded it for a Gabbanelli. Anyone looking to buy a great accordion for a good price, I'm telling you this is the one.

Decent accordions ..I agree with the last opinon

Castiglione does not make accordeons and is a Brand not a factory.

The designs are  tradtional and nothing new or innovative.

I find the prices high with an average value.

Have only dealt with them a few times and business like

The accordeons are made by a few factories and depending on the grade/price can be made in Italy from a few sources, Germany or the Czech republic..

Their higher end accordions are very good.

Many pro players use their piano accordeons.

I've had the opportunity to play two pre-owned Castiigliones',

I rate them very high in quality. a 4 or possibly a 5.

Sound/sonido, both boxes I played had three switches, I'll give em a 4 or 5, as good sounding as the newer Gabbys,

Design a 5, The thing I liked the most is that the buttons are very easy to play. they are lighter than a Gabby, eagle on the grill, Color wise, old school metal flake on one of the boxes I tried, and Tri color on the other, just a few rinestones,   they also come with built in pick up, though I've never played 'em amplified.

Price ??? What's the going rate for these, brand new?  Used?

Customer service ??? I've only played pre-owned boxes.

One of the bands I play for has one. Let me tell you. These are good quality boxes. The buttons are easily played. The weird thing is that these Italian acordeons( or supposed Italian acordeons) have a wet tuning, like a Hohner. Rarest thing you'll ever see! An Italian acordeon with a German tuning.

Most all Italian accordions come with a standard wet 440 tuning. I'm not sure what is the standard tuning on a hohner from factory, but a lot of people get a dry tuning to get that sound like sunny sauceda, homies, Garcia bros.

Right at the top.My son Jayson has a two tone Castilgione that has a sweet smooth sound. It used to belong to his grandfather Paulino Bernal. So Jayson kept the tuning that Paulino uses and let me tell you that sound is so smooth. Jayson likes to use it for boleros. If el mastero Bernal uses it it has to be a five across the board.

I found out that The two Castiglione's I played with the eagle on the grill are actually Guerrini's,  you can see, and here one, in the Mingo Saldivar video, "I love my freedom, I love my Texas". where they are practicing in the tour bus,  Quality boxes none the less. They look like this with the Castiglione name on them.

Over the years I have had a few occasions to call Castiglione..
without exception, the conversation was unpleasant.

He is an importer and a distributor/dealer with as much passion for the business as if he were selling lampshades or Colostomy bags...

I have no reason to do business with them

Fisistalia is good stuff

but if you have the dough  why not get one of the best  Castagnari...
a three row is about $ 3800-$4800  perhaps less direct

Too many good folks and other choices to do business with Castiglione..
high prices, bad attitude..

Why not give Gilbert or Karlitos a chance or contact Glenn and have hime score something for you

I called John Castiglione once for a little help with a Castiglione accordion.  It was an unpleasant experience.  The guy was just talking down at me and not offering any real assistance.
