I'm helping my guitar mentor---He needs the lyrics to a very old song Name El Negro Zumbano this is what he thinks. He says it starts  a viene el negro Zumbano. He remembers how the beat goes but does not have all the words or the name. Could some one assit me on or does anyone out there every heard of a song like this. He says its a very old song.

hmfletch, here is a Brazilian rhythm song "El negro zumbón" from a 1951 film.  The following lyrics are from a word reference site.

Ya viene el negro zumbón
Bailando alegre el baión
Repica la zambomba
Y llama a la mujer
Tengo ganas de bailar el nuevo compás
Dicen todos cuando me ven pasar
"¿Chica, adónde vas?"
"¡Me voy a bailar, el baión!"

I hope that helps.

Sorry I mess it up, it goes AHY VIENE  EL NEGRO ZUMBON, BAILANDO ALEGRE EL BAILON, LE GUSTA LA RUMBA Y AMA A LA MUJER,

this other one ,was just when we were kids the way we used to sing it: AHY VIENE EL NEGRO ZUMBON ,POR EL MERCADO COLON, VENDIENDO TACOS A PESO Y A TOSTON.

TOSTON: MEANS FIFTY CENTS, OR A FIFITY CENTS COIN

Tio Eligio and Parrdero:My mentor is to come by in the afternoon, I told him of you tube and how different ways of to perform it. He told me this morning that he thinks that it had more verses, once we look at you tube we might get better feel if they are other word, but Chano Cadena brother Neto is a history buff in music and his version was very short to so that might be all the word to the song. Neto is very sharp in History of Music and Lyrics.

In fact it is very short, is more music than words, I think the Cuban Musician Perez Prado, I remember there were two brothers, one was Damazo, I don't remember the other brother name, one of them used to play el negro zumbon. I know one of them was kicked out of Mexico, when he made public that he was going to make the Mexican anthem a mambo. I think the Mexican President at said time was Adolfo Ruiz Cortines or may be Adolfo Lopez Mateos, immigration pick him up out of the shower, his Mexican citizenship revoked, and sent him nude to a waiting plane, he didn't want to  go back to Cuba, and I believed, he was sent to Miami with out no cloths ever.
