Hey whats up guys long time no see, well after hard times i had to get rid of my gabby, after almost 2 years with out a box and playin, i finally had the opportunity to get my hands on a hohner compadre,EAD  been  playin the hell out of it for past 3 months i probably leave reeds fire red after im done practing  with the box hahahah lol! Well i had in mind buying a panther but came acroos a good deal on this orange compadre, color was a bit to wild for me so now im thinking on having it custom painting on it and doing some upgrades. I got a crazy idea like 3 weeks ago, that i took it apart and sanded it down to bare wood! then didnt have a box to practice so i kinda put it back together just to play!! Been looking around for a painter but some just scared of painting wood, and others will over charge and my guess will not do a good job so if anyone here paints accordions give me a hollar or someone knows whos does this, ive seen some on forum that are baddass!! yesterday i did the bellows a lil make over i took some pictures ill post so you can see the job i did hope you guys like, feel free for some i deas and comments on the box guys!! future upgrades santa marsala grill, and some pearl buttons!

P.S. i went with the color orange on traingle on bellows since the inside of bellos on the box is orange but im thinking on changing it to white but still undecided since i dont have a color in mind! The second pic i added some black over the orange but was just fooling around i left it all orange looks pretty sweet! let me know what you guys think!

Cool box bro., I had my Compadre painted about 3 weeks ago & I was very impressed with the outcome. It's a work in progress I still want to do some other things to it.

If you wanted you can paint it with auto spray paint, just make sure you use something like rustoleum filling primer to fill in the wood grain, because if not it will show through the finish.

Should be easy to do. Paint it with filler primer then sand it smooth with fine grit paper, clean up the dust, apply your color of choice. If you don't like it, it's just painted wood...sand it off. Try it on a skrap piece of wood. Do your test piece like if it was you accordion. That way you should see what it will look like when you really try.

Nice job ! I think the compadre grill with some gold or silver mesh cloth would give it a better look. Dont know where you're at but here in the DFW area , there's some fabric stores called Joan's and they got some really nice textured gold / silver and several different metallic fabrics.

Looks and sounds great bro!
I have some questions:

1. What did you use to paint the buttons?
2. How did you prep the buttons to paint them?
3. Did you use any type of clear to after painting them?

Thanks
