i would like to change my panther reeds to fbe, would i be better off buying a new accordion as far as cost.

Not really. If you can sell the old reeds to offset the cost of the new ones. You could also find someone willing to trade. Also, you could find a good deal on a used fbe accordion. Just look around.

I had my retuned came out NICE...... a guy here in Tijuas did it for me 200 bucks...

I have a question. Did you have them change your SOL reeds to FA? Or did they swap out your set of SOL reeds for a set of FA?
I guess my question is what exactly did they do to "retune" them?

Actually this guy re-tuned the reeds, he didn't replace them, he uses the "old school" method by adding lead to the reeds...... sounds really nice....

Compadre comes in FBbEb, the reeds will fit from that too.
