i googled bajo sexto and reyes was a hit. didnt make sense to me why it prodoced a hit, so i ignored it. a couple of days later, same search , same hit.  this time i went to the site. browsed for a little, a few minutes or so. came back the next day and explored a little more. finally signed up.

I found the Reyes Accordion Forums by accident, while on a wild goose chase across the internet in search of information about vintage Hohner accordions and Hohner modifications.

It's one of the net's better music-related forums: there's tons of information, topics turn over rapidly, there are many knowledgeable people to get you hooked up, and the atmosphere is very friendly.

I heard about Reyes from Cynni. The acordeonista from Chicas de Canela.  I live in the Santa Cruz Ca. area. She heard some of my guitar based cumbia experiments.  When I mentioned I had no idea if there were any cumbia accordion players out here.  She said I should try your musicians wanted. I intend to.

I was actually asking to get an opinion from a gentleman about what would be the best type of accordion to get( A hohner or a gabby) and he directed me to this site. I'm in a band that plays a lot of diferent styles of music( Rock, Rock en espanol, Cumbias, Nortena, R&B, Funk,Salsa) and I was playing the accodion parts on my keyboard. July4th of 08' I decided to get an accordion, and because of this forum's unlimited amount of talented and knowledgeable people, I was playing a set's worth of songs on the accordion. And I've been learning a lot of Ramon Ayala songs that we will incorporate into our song list.
Hasta!!!!!

I was looking to buy my first bajo and typed in something like "best bajo sexto" in the search engine.  One of the first things that popped out at me was Reyesacordions.com.  I quickly opened the page and it took me to the bajo sexto review section where I read and walked away with a boat load full of knowledge.  I ended up buying my first bajo, a Guerrero- which I am very happy with, from one of the members on this forum.  If not for Reyes I would have ended up buying something very cheap for about the same price.  Thanks for the extra knowledge Familia Reyes!

I have to say I've only been listening to conjunto for about 2-3 years, I never was a big Tejano music fan but I always loved it when my dad would play the HTB's, something about Joe's accordion and the bajo sound. Now I listen to it all the damn time. I came across this forum before the Conjunto Festival this year and joined yesterday.

Searching Google for accordions in Los Angeles. Like past members, I too kept seeing links to Reyes but did not open them since I was shopping for an instrument. After purchasing my accordion and searching Google again, this time for notes and training aids, I clicked on the Reyes links and have not been dissapointed since. Very happy to be a new member and looking forward to growing as a musician.

This was a great idea (Mr. Reyes) and thousands have benefited since.
