In order to avoid SPAM, I added image verification.  This means that before you post, it will ask you to enter the letters and numbers as part of the verification process.

This will appear just below your post.

This is really annoying.

How many times have you seen "spam" messages?

Mee too. I thought this was set because a spammer was sending PM's, not because they were posting on the forum. Maybe set it up where new members have to use image verification until a certain length of time or after so many posts. Just an idea.

I will remove it for a while and see how it works. If we don't get a lot of issues with spam, then we will keep it off.

No need to get upset, we are all reasonable intelligent individuals. All that is necessary is to discuss and figure out what is the best for this forum. If something does not seem to be working, no need to rant and rave, just bring it up for discussion and if it seems reasonable, we will make the necessary changes.

I think everyone who expressed a concern was right on. I appreciate all of the feedback that we received and thanks David for making the changes.

I'm glad that the forum took action. I think it went a little over board. On several other forums that I use, they have restrictions for new users to help thwart spammers and bots from trashing the site. It seems to be successful as I have yet to encounter an issue. This is where my suggestion, previous post, comes from. Anyway, thanks for taking our feedback into account.
