I've been playing guitar.. electric and acoustic for several years and when I was looking for a bajo sexto the Lucida was a decent choice for me. It has a nice finish and the price is very reasonable. The one thing, however that stood out for me was the action of the strings..very low to the fretboard and no bussing. There so low that you could almost pull off some arpeggios...humm I'll have to try that later. Being left-handed I have to really stretch for the higher notes when it calls for it. The only thing I would change is placing a pick-up instead of a 9 volt battery system.

Quality - 3

Sound -  3

Design - 4

Price  -  5

Customer service provided - NA

I finally took out the Lucida I bought last year to learn and started to practice a few weeks ago. I am not an experienced bajo player but I am impressed with the fit and finish of the red chestnut colored Lucida. It has a built-in pickup with intergrated EQ and it has a truss rod. It sounds good through an amp and the pickup is very hot. The action is low which is plus for a novice that is learning. In my opinion its a quality instrument to start out with or if you are looking for a good low cost bajo. I was able to get mine with a really good hardshell case for under $250. check it out here: http://www.elderly.com/new_instruments/items/LBS1.htm

Hi guys, I own a lucida and it sounds clean.  I like the best of both worlds,
I have an old school bajoquinto from Michoacan and it's cool for corridos and Ramon Ayala, Cadetes, Invasores, etc.  But the lucida is great when you want to play leads
like grupo Control on MatamorosQuerido.  The Lucida is an excellent bajo for the price, but stay away from the last line on the EQ( i think it is presence) because it causes some feedback from the monitors..

hey everyone,
well i have a lucida bajo and it was my first bajo when i was a beginner.this bajo has a very nice tone compared to a lonestar in my opinion.it wont have the quality as a macias or hernandez but it is a very inexpensive bajo for a beginner.sounds very good too when you change the original strings.im also selling this lucida bajo for $300 and it has ghs strings and very well taken care of.message me if interested.
