I bought this beauty about a month ago and it was in pretty bad shape. The gold bellows tape was old, dirty and peeling off. Someone was smart enough to put screws instead of pins. The treble screws were too big and some were stripped. It also had a few air leaks around the bellows. Here's what I did:
  • New Black Tape (Time consuming)
  • Removed all screws, sealed the holes then re-drilled
  • Installed new bellow pins and treble screws
  • Installed new bellow gaskets
  • New grill
If anyone needs box repairs you can always contact me...

You might want to use http://www.popularwoodworking.com/woodworking-blogs/chris-schwarz-blog/best-wood-gluefranklin-liquid-hide-glue next time, as it is WAY easier to get the tape off the next time it needs to be replaced, and it is a bit more flexible than wood glue.

If you hit it with a hair drier right after you put each piece of tape on it relaxes the bellows tape and helps it stay in place.
