A very cool feature I'm working on for the next update of the GCF, FBbEb, and EAD 31-button apps:

With this feature, you'll be able to easily read and play from a large collection of tabs right in the app, the teleprompter-style large-text display is rotated so you can see it while playing the app. Combined with the recently added tablature buttons will make for a great combination for learning songs.

I'm currently working with Gilbert to determine which tabs from the site will be OK to include in the app. I'm also open to including any additional song tabs or training/reference material that anyone would like to donate.

I'm hoping to have this all finalized in a few weeks for a mid-March release so if you are interested in having your tabs included, please contact me soon.

Will it highlight buttons to show you how to play it? Can people input their own tabs or "tab code" to learn songs? You can't add evey tab available but allowing people to input their own would be awesome. I need to get an ipad. Great work for helping people out.

Not in this version.  As I learn to how do things with iOS, I add them to my apps. Interpreting and playing from tab files isn't something I can take on right now. I think having hopefully a few hundred songs included for free will be a major step in the right direction... :-)

Very awesome work . I use my hohner app to learn how to play my accordion and it's the only reason I got an iPad...

Gerardo (and anyone else interested in contributing to the tabs for the app), just send me a .zip file with all the tabs in text form you'd like to see in the app, also a note that specifically gives me permission to use them.  I'll be happy to credit anyone who supplies tabs on the app website.

My email is:

Good news, today, I submitted the 3.0 version of the Hohner GCF SqueezeBox for iPad app to Apple for review.

It has over 100 GCF song tabs from the reyesaccordions.com tab collection included with permission by Gilbert Reyes and Francisco (Paco) Rios.

Here's a couple of screen shots, the first of the new song selector, which you bring up by touching the "Tab" button at the top of the screen:

And the next being the scrollable song tab display, which is rotated so you can see it while you are playing:

Assuming no issues in review, the new version should be available as  free update around March 10th.

Cheers,

Michael

I think if there was a way of having the option to highlight buttons along with the tab method, that would be very beneficial. There's a piano app called "finger piano" that highlights keys.

I agree. One step at a time... I'd have to take all the tabs, get them in a standard form that could be interpreted by code, and add the button sequencing to the app...  Eventually...

Been waiting for this. Very nice. Good show. hip, hip Cheerios and all that.

Like moveit05 said. The only reason I got an iPad was for the Horner squeezebox app.

@tioeligio
Lowercase "r" means a one beat rest.
Uppercase "R" means a two beat rest.
I haven't seen CODA. Where did you see this?

I believe "Coda" is the ending of a piece or section. J.Z.

The tabs are only in the 31-button GCF app, because I don't have enough tabs for the other keys cleared for redistribution.

Is there an option to change the number on each button to its respective note?

Hey Roy,
If you touch the question mark it should toggle between no labels, tab labels and note labels.
