Hola NOe,

First of all... with the Carcari and the fishman pickup you already have a great sounding combo.. I think that an acoustic amp would be great for warm sounds when doing full tonos..like using the entire bajo, especiallly when doing menores.. I use a Fender princeton chorus because i always like a little effect especially if im playing just rythm... in a Rieleros jam.. now if i play some intocable or Duelo..im sure the Acoustic amp would probably give me that nice smooth sound. I would have to say it is what type of sound you like and what you want to get out of your bajo... If your really like it and it sounds good...play the hell out of it...Juan

Yea... Juan said it well.

At first, my engineering brain couldn't grasp using such a full range instrument (Bajo Sexto) on such a limited, narrow range reinforcement device like a guitar amp.  But I realized, just like most things, there is a time and a place for it.

Players have used guitar amps on Bajo Sexto for years, probably early on because they didn't have a choice.  Now that there is good full range amplification available, a guitar amp it's simply another alternative sound.  Especially on really loud stages, a guitar amp naturally rolls off low and high frequencies so that it seems to "cut" through a lot of noise.

A good acoustic amp though, will allow a good Bajo with good electronics to shine through and hear the rest of the instrument's interesting frequencies that a guitar amp cannot reproduce well.  This isn't always convenient on a loud, live stage, but it allows the Bajo to "be itself", so to speak.

Noe, before you buy try the fender frontman. It's a solid state guitar amp with 2 12's. I also tried the E110 and it sounds great but I'm not sure how much volume i'm going to get out of it in larger venues. I would just say to check it out and see what you think.
