So i was browsing the web for accordions and i came accross these beautiful accordions. The style is "like" gabbanelli accordions. I was wondering if anyone in the forum new more about these accordions and where they come from, who makes them etc,..and if just by the look, if there good quality. the detail of the accordion is so outstanding...if you look really close at the picture you can see where the "piermaria" is on a plack as seen on the "cantabella" accordions. check em out

I had a sneaking suspicion, so I did a little research and found out they're made at the IMC factory, the same one where Gabbanelli accordions are made.

The accordeons made for sale in the US  by IMC cannot be labelled "Gabbanelli" for European sales.  ergo Pier Maria

Bringing up this thread from dead... Just got my hands on a Piermaria GFC 3 swtich and they are great accordions. Wonder where else I could find another one?lol. Hey guys Im new here as a member but been here for quite a while as a guest. Were this made by Anacleto before he started with the Hohners? Just wondering if any body knows more about them.

Hi, welcome to the forum.

After reading your post, I remembered a youtube video about the Hohner Anacleto factory in Castelfidardo, and seeing the "Piermaria" name above the door. This is Anacleto Gabbanelli's (the brother of John Gabbanelli) factory - Industria Musicale Castelfidardo.

I assume they still manufacture Piermaria accordions there, as the website has the same address: Via Enrico Mattei, Castelfidardo, Italy.

Here is the web site for Piermaria accordions:
http://www.piermaria.eu/

And here is the link to the video tour of Anacleto's factory:

I would, therefore, assume that these accordions were and still are manufactured by Anacleto.

Also look at the following post:
http://www.reyesforo.com/post/anacleto-by-hohner-la-fabrica-5793658

You will see a picture of Anacleto being presented with the Hohner Lifetime Achievement Award by Gilbert Reyes.  In the background on the shelves are several Piermaria accordions.

Also here, you will see Anacleto, and more Piermaria accordions in the background:

Nazzareno Piermaria started the Piermaria brand in 1905:

Great! Thanks for the info. and for the welcome. I bought this accordion from an ebeyer from Italy. I asked him if he could find me another one but never got an answer to my question after the transaction. He claimed this accordions come with hand made reeds but I just havent had the chance to confirm it. I really like the sound and the way it feels. I think I like it more than my 5 switch Hohner Anacleto but again 5 switch plays and important role on sound quality. I would like to find atleast one more either on FBE or EAD. In my opinion its a great box. If anybody on the market for an accordion finds one of this boxes dont think twice on getting it. Its a great quality accordion !
