My style of playing accordion has been playing a pasadita at end of a song line. Example if in Sol the pasaditas would be primera then changes to tercera (Re) and segunda (Do) if needed. I recently started playing with a group more into Tejano and are wanting more accordion throughout the song while it is being sung. I grasp the idea of improvising but not sure whether just to play within the scale of the ling being sung and adding the pasadita before changing to tercera and doing the same thing. An example would be the style of Hometown Boys, David Lee Garza, and others. Any clarification would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Yes follow the chord progressions and you will do great.  I recommend looking up songs and their chords on lacuerda.net  and chordify.net Chordify is cool as hell because you can upload a song and it will give you the chord progressions.  It is not spot on, but it does help.  Also, check out this youtube page,
its key board but very thorough.  Saludos!

Juan Del Norte, your response is appreciated. Your explanation is pretty much as I had assumed. All the songs we do, I'm familiar with the chord changes. Now, i'll just practice and get comfortable.
Thanks again for your help with clarification.
