I think it's "Songs of the Heartland" by Galvan?  It's been on PBS.

It's great after I saw him in it, that's when I wanted to know as

much about this stuff as possible.  I'm not Hispanic!  I'll confirm

it next week for you.  I'll be out of town.

Ya'll need to check out:  KPFT-FM 90.1 "Bailando en Tejas" Saturday

evenings 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm http://www.kpfthouston.org/gusgarza/index.htm

Keep on Squeezin!

Los D Boyz are carrying on the tradition.  These guys have really got the sound down and IMO were one of the best acts at the S.A. festival this year.

I will never forget Tony and its great to listen to all the great things you all talk about him.I played and recorded drums with Tony for Six years and the Vocalist you all heard with the D-boys at the San Antonio Festival also sang and recorded with Tony his Last Two Years,His name is Tony Saenz.Tony Saenz has his own band called Tony Tigre.I now play with Tony Tigre. We both play Bajo-Sexto and sing in the band. But maybe one day we will start playing our Conjunto roots again and just play puro Tony De La Rosa like the way we did before.I learned alot of things from Tony D,about music and about life itself,Talking about the good and the bad times.God Bless to all and Take Care.

A little contribution for the memory of Don Tony de la Rosa.

Rarely has this industry seen such a legacy as that of TONY DE LA ROSA. In 1998 the national endowment for the arts presented Tony with this nations highest honor bestowed to a cultural artist "The National Heritage Fellowship Award". He was also inducted into Tejano Conjunto Hall of Fame in 1982 and into the prestigious Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame. Tony, an innovator, is credited with taking the early forms of Conjunto Music and transforming it into what is today. He was the first to add drums to the conjunto ensemble, replace the upright bass with the electric bass and add amplification to his Conjunto sound. Tony´s accomplishments in the studio are impressive, he developed a keen sense for mixing and recording music and enthusiastically gave many new upcoming groups their start by working with them in the studio. This love for his fellow musicians led to many collaborations and some are featured on this CD.
It was in this time period that a very young musician hopeful by the name of RICK GARCIA (Hacienda´s well-known producer) came on the scene. Tony took the time and patience to teach him the ropes of the music business. In the performance and business side. Rick tells us "It was Tony who presented me with my first award in the music business" and i am proud to have associated with Tony, as my musical teacher and mentor.
Tony´s fame and memory will live on with his loving fans and friends, who will always cherish him.

EL CIRCO polka is the "national anthem" of North Mexico. Apenas se oye en CUALQUIER baile y se llena la pista, a taconearle duro y sabroso.
