This is a great bajo if you can find one!!I tried two and saw another being played by this dude from one the several Cadetes that are playing around the US and Mexico, and they all look like they were made by different luthiers but they all had the D Acosta on them. On looked just like Macias, another looked like a paracho, with a weird bridge, but then you saw the bridge was handmade and not nailed down, and had huge sound. Great sound, good highs and tone. Kind of high action though, and all of these bajos were at least 20 yrs old. I played one that was bird's eye maple, top ,back and sides. Sweet.

I HAVE A R.DARIO ACOSTA BAJO QUINTO I PURCHASED EARLIER THIS YEAR FROM SOMEONE FROM THIS FORUM AND IT SOUNDS LOUD, THE ACTION IS LOW SO I DON'T GET TIRED OF PLAYING THIS BAJO FOR HOURS. ANOTHER GOOD THING ABOUT THIS BAJO IS THE NECK FEELS LIKE A REGULAR GUITAR NECK NOT FAT LIKE ON SOME OTHER BAJO'S I'VE PLAYED.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TYPE OF WOODS IT IS MADE FROM BUT NEVERTHELESS SOUNDS GREAT!
