I love this man's music. He had a unique, simple but great style.

I have a doubt though, Did he sing 1ra or 2da voz?

Ducky, the title of the song is "Preso Sin Delito" like Pesadito said.  One of Ruben's well known jams.

Nice Find!!!

Don Ruben Naranjo was a great accordionist, but a better man.  I remember going to his house uninvited and asking for him, they told me he was out back, and I was welcome to go talk to him.

Me and my friends sat there and talked to him and his son Ricky for hours listening to his old records and getting warmth from the fire he had going.

It was a very good time and he was very welcoming and humble.

After that he would always remember me and I used to go backstage and talk to him and Ricky.

He never charge much to go see him live and he always put on a great show.

He is my favorite and he will be always be remembered as "El Mero Si Senor"  El Clark Gable de la Onda Tejana, el Hijo del Pueblo.

Sin Senor!!!

RIP Don Ruben Naranjo

What else can be said about Ruben Naranjo..without getting drunk! I met the late Ruben Naranjo Years ago at a new years eve dance in Sanger, California. I spoke with him for about a good 30 minutes without being interrupted. He kept admiring my calcos and said I that it was quite an honor that the younger generation was showing more and more interest in his music. To be honest I Don't remember much after that!!!!!!!!  Si Senor!

I remember one time at the Presidente Ballroom in South Houston, I was playing with my stepfather Albert Tijerina Y Los Draculas and we played mano a mano with him.  When he got up to play his first set, or back then it was an hour and a half, he started playing non-stop and didn't stop until someone had to go tap him on his shoulder an hour and a half later to let him know it was time to get off.  Boy, he probably would gone two hours if no one would have told him nothing.  What was more amazing, people danced the whole time.  The good ol' days.
