I had a question which I'm sure that has been answered before so I apologize in advance. I started on a GCF (sol) acordeon. I was taught scales and some songs on it. I now have an acordeon de FA and not quiet sure how to transfer songs over. Example: Tragos Amargos- Tono de "Do" Acordeon de Sol.. I know that if the fingers positions stay the same it would be in Sibemol but doesn't quiet stay the same. I have been told that it be played in "Do" on FA (which would be "Re" in Sol). Also I have seen videos posted where the finger positions change completely and some that could stay the same on any box you use. Could someone please break this confusion down for me.

It comes down to what I like to call the positions on a box. For example Escala de sol on a Sol box position 1. Do-2, Fa-3, Re-4, Sib-5. So "Tragos Amargos" on a sol box would be played in the 2nd position, while on a Fa box it would be played in the 4th. The biggest reason it doesn't play the same is just habit. Don't think too much on the positioning and note layout but on the music. Hope it helps.

The key to a song is your primary chord or primera if you will. There are songs that are in one key yet never hit that chord. For example, la cumbia del sol(tono de sol). It pretty much stays in segunda for most of the song. And you would think it was in Re, but it's not. For songs like that look for your accidentals or sharps and flats. That is the best way to tell.
