Excuse my lack of knowledge what does it mean when someone says Requinto, Requintear?

i think its a certain rhythm (3/4  or 6/8) followed in mariachi music, on the bajo you use the high notes....a rhythmic pattern....i THINK.

I was inside of a guitar shop an I asked a guy the same question. He said that Requinto is a kind of acoustic guitar. not just any nylon string but the way it is designed. I own a book from the Old School trio called "Los Panchos" an the book says that one of the members is the guy that created the Requinto?? But books can always be wrong as well, I have heard that term used in Conjunto music as well...

If you want to see what requintear is check out Los Cuates De Sinaloa or El Tigrillo Palma. Some of the best.

There is some tabs on LA CUERDA were you can learn the positions to requintear. I know a bit so if you have questions I can do my best to help.
Have you ever tried it on a requinto?(twelve-string guitar)

Twelve-string guitar is not a requinto, you can "requintear" on it, but requinto is another guitar.
