I had a Triple Crown 2 tone FBE/Ead and they are made in Italy. I'm talking about the 34 button the piano is not Italian and I don't know about the smaller 31 button. The 34 button I believe is made by the same factory that makes the Ranco accordions because they were both very similar on the button mechanism kind of stiff but the rest of the accordion was very well made and they had good Italian reeds.

Do a search for Laabs here on Reyes...
I'm not sure I would tke that information as gospel

Dural is a medium quality reed.

So what if they have a factory in Castelfidardo, and might fit Italian reeds, that does not answer the question of where the accordeons are made

Those prices... near impossible that the accordeons are entirely Italian made.

I smell a rat.

Excalibur does make some decent accordeons.. but these...
I'd like to see the insides.

Some of those one rows in that configuration go for $1800-2200
how they can be $700... makes no sense.

I called LAABs
As I suspected, these accordeons are made in CHina
They have Itialian made "action" ( installed in China) and
CAGNONI  reeds of an unkown quality... they would NOT commit to them being DURAL grade.

CAGNONIs are a modest quality reed not considered on a par with Antonelli , Armoniche, Binci etc by many box makers....
used extensively by Gabbanellli...

I would need to play one.  Who knows ?

But saying that the retail is over $2300 and then the selling price is 1/2 or a 1/3rd  is  pure marketing hype.

Thanks...
what I find is that if you ask the right questions in the right way.. it cuts down on the possibility fo BS.

I would like to try these accordeons..
However... given LAAB's history   I would not rely on them to willingly take back a box and generate an immediate credit.

The Chinese boxes have gotten very good, especially the chassis and the
bellows.  I understand the installation of Italian reeds,,, but Dural reeds for the prices stated... doubt it.

They could be good boxes..
But another part of value is customer service and that is why I am partial to Hohner.. and particularly now ,thanks to Gilbert Reyes and Tim.

Has anyone tried the 5 switch? I've emailed them through YouTube hoping they would put up a demonstration of it, as they have all of their other stuff on video, but haven't received a response though.
